What is a Facebook Page username?

A Facebook Page username is a unique identifier that allows users to easily find and interact with a Facebook Page. It is the custom URL that appears after the facebook.com/ in the web address of the Page. For example, if your Facebook Page is called “My Business” and your username is “MyBusinessPage,” the URL of your Facebook Page would be:

https://www.facebook.com/MyBusinessPage

Key Features of a Facebook Page Username:

  1. Custom URL: The username creates a custom web address for your Facebook Page, making it easier to remember and share.
  2. Branding: It helps with branding and professionalism, allowing you to use your business name or other relevant identifiers as your username.
  3. Easier Searchability: A unique username helps people find your page more easily, both on Facebook and via search engines.
  4. Social Media Handles: The username is also your social media handle, so it appears in mentions, comments, and posts.

Requirements for a Facebook Page Username:

  • It must be between 5 and 50 characters.
  • It can include letters, numbers, and periods, but no special characters (like @, #, or %).
  • It must be unique and not conflict with existing usernames.
  • The username should represent your business or brand and be easy for people to remember.

How to Create or Change Your Facebook Page Username:

  1. Go to Your Facebook Page.
  2. Click on “Edit Page”: This can be found in the top right corner of your Page.
  3. Select “Page Info” from the menu on the left.
  4. Under “Username”, click “Create Page @Username” or “Edit” if you want to change an existing username.
  5. Enter your desired username and click “Create Username”.

Once created, your username will be part of your Facebook Page’s URL, and you can use it in marketing materials, emails, and other social media platforms for easy reference.
