What are Amazon’s payment options for affiliates?

Amazon offers several payment options for affiliates enrolled in the Amazon Associates Program. Affiliates can choose how they want to receive their earnings, and the available options include:

1. Direct Deposit (ACH)

  • Most Popular Option: Direct deposit is the fastest and most convenient way to receive Amazon affiliate payments. Earnings are transferred directly into your bank account, usually within a few business days after the payment is issued.
  • Availability: This option is available in most countries where Amazon operates, though you’ll need to ensure that your bank account details are correctly set up in your Amazon Associates account.
  • Advantages: Fast processing time, no fees, and convenient for regular payments.

2. Amazon Gift Cards

  • Option for Amazon Shoppers: You can choose to receive your affiliate earnings as Amazon gift cards. The balance is automatically loaded onto your Amazon account, which you can use for shopping on Amazon.
  • Advantages: Ideal if you regularly shop on Amazon, as it offers you a quick way to redeem your earnings.

3. Checks

  • Physical Checks: If you prefer, you can receive a physical check for your Amazon affiliate earnings. These checks are mailed to your address.
  • Minimum Payment Threshold: Checks are generally issued once your balance reaches a minimum threshold, which varies by region (e.g., $100 in the U.S.).
  • Processing Time: This option can take longer due to mailing times, and you may also incur a fee for check processing, depending on your location.
  • Advantages: Useful for those who don’t have access to direct deposit or prefer a tangible payment method.

4. Payoneer (for International Affiliates)

  • Global Payment Provider: Amazon also allows affiliates to receive payments through Payoneer, which can transfer funds to a Payoneer account. This is particularly helpful for affiliates in countries where Amazon doesn’t support direct deposit.
  • Advantages: Provides a flexible payment solution for affiliates outside the regions where Amazon’s direct deposit is available.

5. Minimum Payment Threshold

  • Threshold for Payments: Amazon Associates generally has a minimum payment threshold that must be met before you can receive a payout. For most payment methods, this threshold is $10 for gift cards, $100 for direct deposit and checks, and $100 for Payoneer.
  • Rolling Payments: Payments are made on a 60-day delay from the end of the month in which the sales occurred. For example, earnings from sales in January are paid in March, so it’s important to meet the minimum threshold to avoid delays.

6. Payment Frequency

  • Monthly Payments: Amazon processes payments once a month. After the 60-day processing period, affiliates receive payments according to their chosen method (direct deposit, gift card, check, or Payoneer). Payments are typically issued by the end of the month.

Affiliates can change their preferred payment method anytime from the Account Settings section in the Amazon Associates dashboard, but any changes will typically take effect starting with the next payment cycle.
