How do you generate a link for a specific product on Amazon?
To generate an affiliate link for a specific product on Amazon, follow these steps if you’re part of the Amazon Associates program:
Steps to Generate an Amazon Affiliate Link:
- Sign into Amazon Associates:
- Go to the Amazon Associates homepage.
- Log into your account using your Amazon Associates credentials.
- Search for the Product:
- In the Amazon Associates dashboard, you’ll find a search bar that allows you to search for products on Amazon.
- You can also go directly to Amazon.com, find the product you want to promote, and copy the product’s URL.
- Get the Affiliate Link:
- Once you’re logged into Amazon Associates and have found the product you want to promote, there are two common ways to generate your affiliate link:
Method 1: Using SiteStripe (Recommended)
- SiteStripe is a toolbar that appears at the top of your screen when you’re logged into Amazon Associates and browsing the site.
- Go to the product page you want to promote (on Amazon.com).
- At the top of the page, you will see the Amazon Associates SiteStripe toolbar.
- Click on Get Link.
- You can choose between different link types:
- Text Link: A simple text link to the product.
- Image Link: A link with a product image.
- Text + Image Link: Combines both text and image.
- Select the desired link format, copy the provided code or URL, and you can now use it on your website, blog, or social media.
Method 2: Using the Product Linking Tool
- Go to your Amazon Associates dashboard.
- Under Product Linking, select Product Links.
- Search for the product by its name or ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number).
- Once you find the product, click on Get Link.
- Choose from the available link types: text, image, or text + image.
- Copy the generated code and use it as you wish.
- Share the Link:
- Now that you have the link, you can use it in your content. When users click on the link and make a purchase, you’ll earn a commission (if the purchase qualifies).
Additional Notes:
- Tracking ID: If you have multiple websites or marketing channels, you can set up different tracking IDs within Amazon Associates to track performance for each source.
- Link Shorteners: You can use Amazon’s link shortener to create a cleaner and more manageable URL if you want to share it more easily.
Example of a Basic Affiliate Link:
An affiliate link might look like this (note the unique affiliate ID at the end):
This link will direct visitors to the product page for the item and will track any qualifying purchases made through that link.
By following these steps, you can easily generate and share affiliate links for any product listed on Amazon.
